Chon Junhong will introduce internal Shaolin ideas and how to implement them when practicing forms and fighting.

Chon Junhong is a world champion martial artist, international sanda champion, and dedicated coach. A member of the USA Kung Fu Team, he has performed with the Shaolin team and participated in lion dances for China's President Hu, reflecting his deep ties to martial arts traditions. Trained by masters like Shaolin Xin Yi Ba's Hu Zheng Sheng, Junhong's philosophy centers on growth and empowerment. He inspires others to embrace their potential, transforming challenges into victories and opportunities into growth. As a mentor, he is committed to guiding the next generation of martial artists with discipline, resilience, and purpose.

This seminar covers the New Gen 3rd Set Compulsory Chen Taiji form (without nandu), essential for competitors aiming for international Chen style Taiji. Learn the nuances to gain an edge in local, national, and international competitions.

Dr. Matthew Tay is a US Taiji Champion and former US Wushu Team member. His knowledge of taiji encompasses Yang, Chen, Sun, Wu, and other internal styles like Baguazhang. He has taught taiji for 16 plus years at different studios and schools including the University of California San Diego (UCSD). With a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine (DACM), Matthew incorporates his medical background into his lessons to guide students in practicing taiji with the correct structure and posture to promote circulation and the proper flow of qi.

Gao Song is a distinguished National Wushu Champion of both China and Hong Kong, with a celebrated career as a professional athlete on the Liaoning Wushu Team and the Tianjin Wushu Team. From 2005 to 2016, he served as the Coach of the Hong Kong Wushu Team, leading athletes to excellence on the global stage. Gao is also a certified USAWKF judge, bringing his expertise to competitions worldwide.

Health Qigong

Selina will teach Baduanjin Qigong. It is beneficial for quality of life, sleep quality, balance, handgrip strength, trunk flexibility, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and resting heart rate.

Selina Tao, a former Hubei Wushu Team athlete (1991-2001), became the 1994 National Youth Swordsmanship Champion and earned the Wu Ying Grade Athlete title in 1995. After retiring, she graduated from Beijing Sport University in 2005, founded Ruifen Tai Chi Studio, and taught Tai Chi in Beijing. She won the 2009 Sun-style Tai Chi Championship and the 2012 CMAT Swordsmanship and Baguazhang titles in California. In 2018, she launched the Miss Cow dessert brand and became a sponsor and performer at major martial arts events like the 2023 World Wushu Championships. Selina is also a registered judge with the United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF).

Shaolin Mantis

The Shaolin Mantis is one of the original animal styles from the Shaolin Temple. Learn with Master Yanxu and explore its applications.

Master Shi Yan Xu is an accomplished Zen master and traditional Shaolin Temple Kung Fu teacher. He is the founder of the Shaolin Temple Cultural Center USA and the former Head Coach of Warrior Monks for the Shaolin Temple of China. As a teacher, he has coached dozens of instructors from both China and abroad to share the Shaolin Culture, Master Shi YanXu also travels extensively to share the Shaolin Arts with students from around the world and continues to study Chan Buddhism as part of his personal journey.

SEMINAR SCHEDULE

Each seminar is scheduled for 2.5 hours, with 30-minute breaks between sessions for meals or rest.

Instructors may adjust their sessions to run between 2 and 3 hours as needed.
